PRINCE2® (PRojects IN Controlled Environments) has become the most widely adopted project management methodology in the UK and around the world. Following an extremely rigorous process, Services to Business, part of the Guildford College Group has become the only College in the UK to gain accreditation for this prestigious course.
For organisations it provides a rigorous structure for projects. For individuals, PRINCE2® demonstrates to existing or new employers an understanding of the approach and how the methodology of project management can be applied to both large and small projects alike.
Throughout the summer Services to Business developed an intensive five day course which includes the opportunity to sit the APM Group Ltd (APMG) administered PRINCE2® Foundation and Practitioner exams. The course incorporates a blend of lectures, practical activities, case studies linked to real life scenarios and sample papers including numerous question/answer sessions. The courses are split into two different levels:
Foundation
Aimed at measuring whether a candidate could act as an informed member of a project management team on a project using the PRINCE2® method, within an environment supporting PRINCE2®. To this end they need to show they understand the principles and terminology of the method.
Practitioner
Aimed at measuring whether a candidate could apply PRINCE2® to the running and managing of a non-complex project within an environment supporting PRINCE2®. To this end they need to exhibit the competence required for the Foundation qualification, and show that they can apply and tailor PRINCE2® to address the needs and problems of a given project scenario.
